Contractors acting on behalf of Wessex Water will be carrying out ground investigation surveys in Main Beach Car Park and the overflow field car park between Monday 16 March and Friday 3 April 2026.
These investigations form part of Wessex Water’s routine assessment work and will involve drilling several boreholes and completing associated tests to understand local ground conditions.
A small temporary 15m x 15m compound will be positioned in different areas of the car park throughout the programme. This means that a limited number of parking spaces will be unavailable at times, but disruption will be kept to a minimum.
The works will take place during normal operational hours (8am–5pm), and some noise should be expected while investigations are underway. Water and sewerage services will continue as normal unless advised otherwise.
The Friday markets will continue as normal and will not be affected by these works.
