Further Consultation Launches for the Draft Pre-submission Swanage Neighbourhood Plan

Swanage Town Council is pleased to announce the launch of a further period of consultation on the Draft Pre-submission Swanage Neighbourhood Plan, commencing on Monday 12 October 2026.

Following the Regulation 14 public consultation held between June and August 2026, a further consultation period is being undertaken. Through no fault of the Town Council, some important supporting documents and information were inadvertently omitted from the Swanage Neighbourhood Plan website during the original consultation period. This further consultation provides residents, businesses, community organisations and other interested parties with an opportunity to consider this information and submit any additional comments.

The following documents and information are now available as part of the consultation:

  • Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA)
  • Housing Needs Assessment (HNA)
  • Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA)
  • Updated and corrected mapping and Plan text, where applicable.

The draft Plan and supporting documents can be viewed from 12 October at www.swanageplan.co.uk.

A public drop-in event will be held on Monday 16 November 2026, from 3pm to 7pm, in The Showbar at the Mowlem Theatre, Shore Road, Swanage, where members of the public can find out more and discuss the draft Plan.

If you submitted comments during the original consultation, there is no need to resubmit them. However, if you have additional comments having considered the information now available, you are welcome to submit these during the further consultation period.

Comments can be submitted online, by email or in writing, and the consultation closes at midnight on Sunday 22 November 2026.

The Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will also be attending the Swanage Friday Market in early November, providing an additional opportunity for residents to learn more about the consultation and ask questions. Further details will be announced shortly.
