Swanage Town Council is delighted that Godlingston Cemetery has been awarded Gold Standard status in the national Cemetery of the Year Awards 2026, sponsored by the British Register of Accredited Memorial Masons (BRAMM), recognising the high standards of care, maintenance and service provided at the site.
Councillor Chris Moreton, Chairman of the Community Services Committee said:
“The gold standard award is a tremendous tribute to the workforce who look after our cemetery so well. It is a testimony to the professionalism from those who maintain the grounds, to those who administer the service and help our residents at a distressing time. We are lucky to have a good team."
