The Town Council would like to thank you for your understanding and patience at this time.

 

Please find below details of public facilities in and around the town.

All facilities are free to use.

Opening Times

All toilets are open and operational by 8.00 a.m., except for the Swanage Museum and Heritage Centre toilets, which are open and operational by 10.00 a.m.

Opening/Closure - Months/Times

Spring/Autumn (April, May & September) - 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Summer (June, July & August) - 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. (until 11.00 p.m. as and when required for local events)

Winter (October to March) - 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. – except for the Swanage Museum and Heritage Centre toilets, which are only open until 4.00 p.m.

Please note, however, that all Town Council toilets will be closed on Christmas Day.

Toilets equipped with disabled facilities are noted in brackets.

The following toilets are open all year round - please see opening hours as above:

  • Swanage Museum and Heritage Centre - OPEN (disabled facilities)
  • Shore Road - OPEN (disabled facilities)
  • Peveril Point - OPEN
  • Mermond Place - OPEN (disabled facilities - accessible 24 hours a day via use of a RADAR key)
  • Beach Gardens - OPEN (disabled facilities)

The following toilets are open from April to September, and closed from October to March, although they are open as indicated* between October and March:

  • Battlegate 
  • Burlington Chine  (*open at weekends, and during school holidays) - (disabled facilities)
  • Main Beach car park, Victoria Avenue (*open for market days, during school holidays, and for weekend football matches) - (disabled facilities)
  • North Beach car park - (disabled facilities)
  • The Spa Beach Huts - CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

There are also toilet facilities available at Swanage Railway Station when trains are running.

Please note, however, that the Town Council's public conveniences may at times be closed during adverse weather conditions.
