Town Hall

 
Swanage Town Hall is located in the High Street at Swanage and is home to a number of community services. Swanage Town Council and Dorset Police have joined forces to provide a joint facility in the Town Hall Annexe.  This is known as Swanage PaTHway.  The reception staff are very knowledgeable and can provide guidance in respect of all Town Council services, including cemeteries and allotments. Forms can be collected for concessionary bus passes, and residents’ car parking permits can be issued to those who supply their Council Tax Bills and V5 Registration Documents. Copies of all planning applications and relevant consultation documents affecting the town are also available.

 Opening Times

The Town Hall reception is open to the public from Monday to Friday during the following times:
                                                1st April to 30th September    1st October to 31st March
            Mornings                     10 a.m. to 1 p.m.                     10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
            Afternoons                  2 p.m. to 4 p.m.                       2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

 Citizens Advice Bureau

A meeting room in the basement of the Town Hall, with level access from the rear entrance off of Town Hall Lane, is home to the Citizens Advice Bureau and Registrar.
The CAB’s services are available on an appointment only basis on Wednesdays between 10.15 a.m. - 2.00 p.m. On Fridays there will be a drop in session between 10.15 am - 2p.m. There will be a receptionist to manage any queue and provide leaflets and appointments if required.

 Local Authority Housing

Enquiries for local authority housing in Swanage can be made at Synergy Housing, Prospect House, Sandford Lane, WAREHAM BH20 4DY.  Telephone: 01929 558400.  Details of properties available via the Purbeck Home Swap service can be seen on the notice board outside of the CAB office.

 Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriage

If you wish to register a birth or death, or discuss marriage arrangements, the registrar is in attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.00 a.m. to 12 noon. An appointment is necessary and can be made by telephoning the Dorchester Registry Office on 01305 225153.
