You may be aware that Dorset County Council has recently prepared proposals to make Shore Road one-way. These proposals were drawn up in response to feedback provided through the Swanage Local Plan Issues and Options Consultation in 2014, and a copy of this feedback is attached for your information.

The County Council’s plans were made available at a public ‘drop-in’ session at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Swanage, on 21st June 2016 and, at that meeting, a number of local residents raised concerns in respect of these proposals with Town Councillors who were present. As a result of this, a meeting will be arranged in due course to provide local residents with the opportunity to raise their concerns over these proposals, and discuss potential alternative options, Information, and details of the venue, will be made widely available in advance of the meeting date.
Mr Kevin Humphreys, Transport Planner, Dorset County Council, will be in attendance at the meeting to provide an update on the County Council’s draft proposals.
