Beach Hut Maintenance

The Shore Beach Huts

All of our beach huts along Shore Road are now boasting brand new doors in the colours that everyone loves so much: Glorious Green, Ravishing Red, Bright & Breezy Blue and Yo-Yo Yellow!  They are all looking fabulously cheery!

The Spa Beach Huts

During the winter of 2018-19, the wooden beach huts along the bottom section of Spa Hill were removed and the top row of wooden beach huts refurbished. Together with the six newer blue huts known as the Spa Retreats, these 8 huts (28 to 35) will remain open for the summer of 2022.

Drainage works were also undertaken in early 2019 to address cracked underground pipes which lead to the closure of the toilet block, and also cordoning off the lower section.

This work was the first stage of an improvement scheme for this area which is currently under development. Over recent years it has become clear that the hillside is gradually slipping towards the sea and stabilisation work will be required here, just as it was on the Recreation Ground.  Small signs are also in situ at The Spa with this information.

The nearest public toilets are on Shore Road (near the Swanage Information Centre) or at Battlegate (200 metres north along the seafront).  The nearest water points are situated at Sandpit Field and by the Shore Road beach huts
